I'm working on an import feature to easy the addition and synchronization of products. This is marked as bug #100 in the bugtracker. It will accept records from clipboard, from CSV files and from external modules. It will be ready soon. Regards, Mario A. Valdez-Ramirez. |

Any word on when an import function might be available? I love the program, but I have some 4500 products that need to be entered to get my store up and running and they are all currently listed in excel or .csv files |

firstly thanks mario, it is an incredible app!!! so much better than using the admin for adding new prodcuts, but an import function would be the icing on the cake, hope everyone is donating some money to this very worthy developer! also being able to manage atributes via the app would be a huge timesaver... looking forward to seeing the next update... hate to hassle, when do you think it will be ready? We are still waiting for that import feature ... it will make everyones lifes so much easier. In September 2004, you said it will be ready soon, it has been 2.5 years ... please add it, it can't be so difficult can it? The contributions on oscommerce site for this feature are horrible and hard to use. Just another thing, I use individual shipping (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1333)and I'm sure many other people do as well ... please could you include the option to update products with this as well. Cause its all great uploading 3000 products with or without excel import, but now I have to go through every one of them and give them a shipping price. Oi Vei. |

Nearly ready. Just tidying the instructions to make it simple as i had to do a lot of late night hacking to figure this out. As i mentioned i'm not a programmer at all so please be kind. So far working like a charm and no bugs detected and no crashes at all. I'll update very soon. Cheers Ren |

As sad as it is to say this, I don't think there will be an excel import feature built into the program for a long long time to come |

Post subject: | Import application. |
Hi. I'm planning to write another application for importing/exporting/synchronizing, named "osCommerce Product Data Exchange", which will allow the records exchange between data repositories, including CSV files like those made with MSOffice Excel or OpenOffice Calc. However, I'm still designing it. The basic idea is what is written here: http://mariovaldez.net/webapps/bugtrack ... &bugid=345 As for a date, I don't know. This is a most-wanted feature, so it is at the top of my list, but I can't provide a delivery date. In the mean time, you can try the Renato Benci extension for osCommerce (BOSCPMCSVIMPORT). Regards, Mario A. Valdez-Ramirez. |

Post subject: | CSV Import |
HI, CSV files are easy to import once created in either Calc or Excel. The file i hacked does a very good job for bulk CSV file import and migration into OSCPM but i'll be the first to admit that it is the long way around in doing so, but it works! I cant wait for Mario's version when it's released though. Cheers, Ren |

Post subject: | Multiple |
I must say, a way for me to import multiple products at once, so I can just make a quick list in Excel, with their names and prices and image names, and then just pasting it in the program, would be fantastic. I'd be willing to pay for such a feature to be added to oscommerce. I hope you have something good up your sleeve Mario |
