Great piece of software, saves bandwidth with ISP as well.

All working fine except I can not view/upload/download my images, I have set the url to my www.xxxxxxx.co.uk/images and the upload script dir to the root where I have uploaded it to but still I can not see my images.

Please could you advise.

Go to the configuration window, select the "Images" tab, then check carefully the "Images URL" and the "Upload script URL". I say "carefully" because I always make mistakes when changing stores.

Then, in the same Configuration window, select the "Interface" tab and check the checkbox "Show debug web data". Now try to edit any product.

In the product editing window, now there is a small text field to show you the remote script responses (this shows the answers when deleting or uploading, not when downloading).

Please let me know if you can solve this or if I can help you further. :)

Richard:

I forgot to point out that another option can cause the problems you describe: the web proxy options (second tab in configuration window).

If you are behind a proxy, check that the options are right for you.

Post subject:  Image Not Found In Server

Well, I have been trying for 4 days now. Following all the directions given, however, I cannot seem to get the pictures to work.

My store is located at http : // www . x x x . com / catalog

So, my images are at http : // www . x x x . com / catalog / images

I uploaded the file to http : // www . x x x . com / catalog / oscpm1_upload.php

I am a rookie at programing, and don't know what to do with a proxy (as in a previous suggestion.) I looked at my tools in internet explorer, and went to connections, and lan settings, but the proxy is not selected. Everything is working perfectly on the program except the images. I can add, change and even delete products...when I add an item, i get a socket error 11001 Host Not Found. (again, only on the images)

I completely love this new contribution. I have been able to clean up my 1500+ item database with so much ease. This is the exact program I have been looking for to manage details of the products.

I will be posting ideas at a later time. (already have my list started).

Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful tool! This is a must have for all store owners!!!

Ok, the paths seems ok. But let's check them. Open your web browser. Add the URL of the upload script. You should see a message like: "OSCommerce Product Manager, server-side script 0.1.0." If no message is displayed or an error is displayed, then something is wrong with the script (it may not be there, or maybe the webserver cannot read it, etc).

That means there is no explicit proxy configuration. However if "Detect automatically" is enabled in Windows configuration there may be a proxy with Web Proxy AutoDiscovery (WPAD) (that cannot be used directly by the OSCPMWin application). To test this, just try this: open the Command Prompt of Windows, type
Code:
telnet www.yourserver.com 80

(for example). If telnet just hang there waiting a minute or two, failing to connect, there is for sure a proxy installed. If you get a prompt or a clear screen type "GET" (in uppercase), press Enter and you should get an answer from the web server, meaning there is no proxy (well, it could be a transparent proxy, but in that case the proxy is not the problem).

If you discover there is a proxy between you and internet, you should ask your administrator or your ISP what are the proxy settings (just tell them you have a software that need the parameters). If you use another browser (like Netscape, Mozilla or Firefox) that cannot use WDAP, maybe you already have the proxy parameters at hand.

That means that it was not possible to contact the server. The error means "I cannot contact that server", even if the hostname is correct. I think you have a web proxy. Please check that.

I think you cannot download images already on your server, right?

Thank you sir.

I could not find a proxy. I called my ISP, and they said no proxy was used. But here is how I did get it to work.

On the Network2 configuration page, I didn't notice that the web connection settings had a drop down window. I clicked on the drop down, and selected the blank line. Now the pictures work.

Thank you again!

Aaah. Yes, the default value of the proxy host is "proxy", and empty means "do not use proxy". Maybe I should change the default to empty or add a checkbox to enable/disable the proxy settings. My design fault...

Great you get it to work!
