Many OSC users use the header tags contribution to google up their rankings on searchmachines. It would be wonderfull if OSCPMWIN automatically entered the products name in the header tags fields ( Products Page Title, Page Header Description and Product Keywords) by default (without typing them in seperately). When I add products whit OSCPMWIN it is really much faster than with OSCommerce Admin but i have to add the text for those fiels afterwards and this cost me a lot of time extra.

Ok, this has been requested before several times (by mail and in these forums). I'm close to be convinced about supporting it.

Just to be sure, is this the "Header Tags Controller" originally by Linda McGrath?

Originally yes it is from Linda McGrath. It only has been updated many times. I use Creloaded version of OScommerce and my version is Header Tag Controller/ GeneratorV 2.3.2 Author: Brenden Vickery

In the database is is in the products_description table and in the fields: products_head_title_tag, products_head_desc_tag and products_head_keywords_tag

If these fields could automatically be filled with the same text as you type in products_name it would be great.

Excellent software, but i can't use it.

Basically when i update my products it removes the header tags added by the contrib everytime i do it. Is this going to be added in soon?

I'm using CRELoaded ver for osCommerce.
The software was working really well , but whenever I updating the products data to server. the Meta Tag Information (data) was disappeared.;(
How can I fix it?
Any new release?

Hi. Currently, the software can detect the Header Tags Controller extension, but it does not do anything about it. What it should do is to add the required fields to the product editing window and allow the updating of the database fields.

My first thought when I filled in the Bug #298 (Custom product data) was that it was the right way to implement the meta tags support.

So, I think I should wait for that feature to be created so the application can support the extra fields of the Header Tags extension. If I see that the Bug 298 won't be implemented any time soon, I can write the meta tags support directly (just like I did with the MoPics 6 extension).

I tried many things, and the ultimate SEO is the best. My vote for tag entries to ultimate SEO contrib.

mvaldez, it would be great to get head tags implemented, it's really stopping me using this excellent software as i have manaully updated all my header tags and don't want to loose that info

Is there any update on this? I love the application, but since installing header tags, i dont feel i can use it.
